Finishing my morning coffee, getting organized for the day. I've decided to abandon the Fitbit for now and get back to logging my deets into FatSecret again. Seems like more of a community here, which I've never tapped into in the past; but maybe it's time to find some supportive, like-minded friends to be accountable to.

I've been trying to follow a low-carb, higher fat way of eating the past month, and had good initial success with dropping some weight. That has leveled off, as I've gotten sloppy here and there with logging my food.

We have a gala to attend this weekend, which I plan to enjoy. Otherwise, I'm keen to eat well during the week (a way to justify rewarding myself Saturday evening).

I realize I need to be consistent...most of the time. It's not about denying myself for the rest of my lifetime; it's about eating 80 percent of the time a whole-foods, healthy diet. And exercise--moving everyday, even if it's only going for a walk with the dogs for 30 minutes to an hour. There's room for enjoyment in a healthy lifestyle.

It's a marathon, not a sprint. I will be patient. Results will come if I am consistent. I will have faith; I will not get discouraged. Everyday is a fresh start. Here's to eating well and living well!
