Thanks for all your positive comments. To Addie - yes, at the moment this diet is working for me despite the high carb content, but for the moment I want to eat foods that I get pleasure eating.. --To Transformation Butterfly, Yes, I am positive and soon I hope to see some change in my body shape and that will give me another boost. --To Maggy May, like you I am retired and want to lose the weight slowly, this website has really helped me, making it a lot easier to keep track of foods eaten. Good luck with your weigh in on the 19th. We can all do it. "Wake up with determination and go to bed with satisfaction" .

Hi Lily just to say that I too need to have the support of the site even though every now and again I disappear off the radar when things don't go my way with my weight, encouragement from members and buddies mean so much to keep me on the path of success.....like you I have to eat foods that I like as long as I weigh everything I would rather have a smaller portion of the higher calorie foods.....like today we had pancakes for B/fast and I measured each one in mls they were much smaller then my hubbies but I still felt quite full and did not feel left out of the Shrove Tuesday hype!

Went out with our walking group this morning ( we only walk for an hour at a medium pace). After wards we all went in a cafe for brunch,I was naughty and had my favourite double egg and chips, but I have allowed for this in my calories and will have a clear can of Baxters soup tonight. So Maggy you had your pancake and I also had a treat.. I usually get weighed on a sunday morning so fingers crossed that I can lose another pound.

Well all I can say lily is temptation will always be out there, but life is for living, naughty but nice things are everywhere, if I do go off the rails occasionally I will try and calculate it into my daily calorie allowance where I can, if that's not possible and go well over the 1400 I'm not going to lose any sleep over it but try to eat 400 cals less daily for the next few days to make up for the treat..... hope your Sunday morning weigh in makes you smile, my weigh in day is drawing closer 10 days and counting..... hope its been worth all the effort though!

Maggy, your diet similar to mine. I am trying to stick around 1300-1400 calories daily, but try and have less after or before a treat. On Wednesdays I go out and play ladies darts and I like to have a couple of beers ,there is always snacks available and I try to be good but not always successful. The two beers are quite high in calories but I love my darts night out. Like you I want to do it slowly. I will be very pleased if I lose a pound this week.

I was going to say take pictures. I didn't SEE much change in the beginning. I started in Jan 2015 and we went for a family birthday dinner in March. It was one of those places that they cook in front of you and make a big deal about birthdays. They took a picture and I brought it home and was looking at it, I couldn't believe the difference in just a couple months. Then we went on vacation in June, more pics, more changes. I wish I had taken a pic each month. The number on the scale is only one way of gauging progress (great job)!

Thankyou Rckc, yes, it would have been nice to see your photos, .Maybe 2 months after my starting weight I will take a photo of myself, that is if I remember. I have not been so good this week,.A funeral of a friend on friday so may be having a few drinks at his wake.

Not a good day today. Went to a friends funeral and was eating sandwiches and had a couple of beers. Was unable to count calories due to all the different fillings in the food. Also had a dinner when I got home. The dinner was me just being greedy. So today I am just estimating my calories. I will be back on track tomorrow but don't think I will lose any weight on sunday. But you never know.
