Okay...so I am hoping for some successful weight loss again. Money has been very tight, so the food I have had to eat was basically nothing but rice, potatoes, and pasta.

I now know that Carbs are poison to my system, even trying to exercise portion control doesn't help. I ate very little and still gained 14 lbs....

My hubby feels so badly for me, and says we will try to support my eating needs, so we'll see :)

I already feel better, and it's only been 2 days!

Good to hear you're feeling better so soon after a re-start. Atkins, or any WOE these days, can be difficult if money is really tight, but it can be done. You've had success before with Atkins, so I'm sure you'll be back to losing before you know it. Just keep in mind that foods that seem cheap in price eventually can cost you mega-bucks in health care costs! In any event, just keep looking for sales on foods that are appropriate. Forget about all the "low carb" specialized products. Keep it all fresh, or frozen but unprocessed, and you'll do great. Plain chicken, lower grade ground beef, even plain pork are often fairly good buys. I often buy the cheapest chuck steak I can find and cut it up into stir-fry size pieces myself, using a kitchen shears...it saves around $2/pound or more doing it myself! Eggs are probably one of the best nutritional values. Look into farmers' markets, if they're still available where you live. And some food pantries (don't know if you're eligible) will have fresh produce days that are worthwhile. Look at all areas where you spend money to see if there are any places where expenses can be trimmed or eliminated to help allocate more money to good food. Good luck finding your way through these challenges.
