Why do I feel so ravenous?

It's only 11:30am (GMT) and I've already had breakfast and lunch.

I think I choose pretty well for the most part (bar yesterday when I helped myself to a packet of crisps and pizza!).

I drink plenty of water. I do well with fruit and veg for the most part.

I just can’t figure out what else to do. Any advice would be welcomed where that is concerned.

Well done especially to @Frosty Heimdall , @Starv1Ng and @Keskul, you guys are slaying it!

Hi = Note to yourself - You are not hungry unless you body contains only 7% of body fat, as when you do not put food into your mouth, your body uses your fat storage for fuel instead - hence people who fast lose 3lbs per day and do not feel hunger.....The pangs and urges you are getting are from the SUGAR receptors in your brain tricking you into eating more food - STAND UP TO THEM and say NO - Have a great day x

Try sugar free chewing gum and/or water before eating, that may be enough to stave off the hunger. Xx

@Here2bhealthy, from what I can see you've only recorded two recent day's worth of food and the fat intake is pretty low. You show that you're on your own diet like me, but I'm pretty sure that our paths to our goals take different routes. I find myself more hungry 90% of the time due to stress... This past weekend I just had a rotten day at work and I couldn't shake life's woes fast enough and I felt the oncoming need/want to eat as soon as I got home. I recorded everything short of the bourbon because drank that without measuring (lol). I tend to not get hungry because of my WOE and I believe that that is because my daily intake of fat is around 100g and yours much less. There are schools of thought and research that'll argue fat vs. protein as to which one provides more satiety but I don't think that there is either that will show carbohydrates as 'filling'. Personally for me, carbs have never made me feel full. Just this last week a co-worker and I were discussing our childhood's and I came to realize that no matter how much cereal I had for breakfast, I always wanted more. I'm not trying to convert you to Keto but try adjusting your intake to more fats and less carbs to see if you come away feeling more full. And again, it could be that you've just had a stressful day and that's it.

Thanks for that Frosty. I only just started keeping my food diary again. I think you're right, though. I was feeling a bit under the weather and had a bit of time on my hands. So it was boredom, I think. I ended up taking my little girl out to run around and do some other errands. After that, I was able to make OK choices when I got back home.

Jiankov, I have to force myself to eat oats. I don't really like them but it's true what you say, they do keep me quite full for a long time.

Mix in some frozen mixed berries to mask the taste and try using almond milk instead of normal

Hi, dcfunsizemma, I do use Almond Milk, mostly because I take whole milk in my morning coffee/tea. I just don't like it ... but I'm making myself eat it!

@Draglist you're right. Just having a young one in the house sometimes she gets these "treats" and I can't help myself. I try not to have those things in the house because the temptation is great and I am weak sometimes. Must try harder.

I eat when I'm hungry, however I don't get hungry between meals and that's down to low carb, so that works for me and I'm steadily losing the weight, all good so far. Good luck.

I have been using Alpro Almond for months now, and have grown to love it. I use semi skimmed milk in tea but the Almond with everything else. Even on my porridge!

Hi Heretobehealthy I think you should do low carbs. Constant hunger is a sign of body not dealing well w carbs. Have a look at thebloodsugardiet.com Penny

For my bf and myself, we find that being sure to get plenty of protein and fibre means even something small becomes super filling. One of our go-tos are snack recipes by the "Protein Chef" you can find him on YT, name is Derek - some good solid recipes AND he always includes nutrition info. We love his banana bread around here (it's base is oat/protein powder/banana and it's VERY filling), but he has loads of others, we've tried some of the mini cheesecakes and I just baked the blueberry protein bread tonight - cooling off now! Some are lowcarb, some are not, but for us anyway they make good little snack/breakfast options. :)

@JockoT, I hear you. I like Almond Milk, especially in cereal (even though I don't eat that much anymore). It's nice in smoothies, too! Above I meant, I am not a fan of oatmeal. It's like eating paste to me, even though it is quite filling. @pmshrink you're right on the proteins. I will definitely have a look at that website. Thanks for the link! I really need to learn more about varying my protein choices since I don't eat pork or beef. Roast/baked chicken is featured a lot in my food diary. I love fish as well, especially sea bass. Has anyone else noticed how expensive fish is costing these days? @real_gone_girl I will check out the Protein Chef too. thank you for the suggestion. Hope everyone has a good week ahead.
