Happy Monday.

Off to a great start. On target to have a nice drop for my next weigh in on Wednesday. I didn't log my weight over the weekend just as I didn't the weekend prior and I am proud of the control I had over the weekend. It wasn't easy but I guess I a sick of constantly starting over and over like.

I successfully completed my 1st of a 24 week training plan called couch to half marathon. I stepped up my pace during my last interval training on Saturday trying to get a lower time then my prior training on Wednesday and 4 minutes before I completed my session, I experienced major sciatic nerve pain shooting down my right leg. My immediate response was to stop, however I quickly decided that I should try and slow my pace to see if the pain would subside or even better go away. The pain only subsided and I was able to complete that training. I carefully stretched afterwards and went on with my day. Now that I look back, I recall some achilles pain in my left foot within 9 minutes of the training but I pushed through.

This week, I will push through and make it happen. Have an awesome week all.

Glad you're doing well. Hopefully the nerve pain won't be a recurring thing.

Sciatic pain came around 13 minutes into today's workout. So intense I almost stopped the treadmill again. This sucks. Dropped my sprint speed down from 7 to 6 then to 5 and pushed on. After my warm up on Wednesday, I will start my jog at 5 although I want to run faster during the speed part of my interval.

I was having problems with my sciatic nerves a few months back, happened when I was pushing myself doing HIIT sprints. That put my out of commission for a while as far as anything strenuous. Be careful, you might consider backing off a bit if you have the issue.

hey Jim, I will definitely bring it down from a sprint to a 5 mph jog until I figure a way to so some stretches to address this issue and keep loosing the weight. I am sure having this excess weight doesn't help with my spine.

That sounds like a good approach. If you haven't already, google sciatic nerve pain and stretches for it. There's some simple ones you can do, they helped me.

Okay that's the spirit Rocky!!!!!! Proud of you!!!! My Tai Chi instructor had a few people use the stability ball to relax the area after class. Start off sitting on the ball and moving slowly in circular motion.
