STARTING OVER YET AGAIN

It's a new year, and I'm ready for a new beginning. Unlike past years where I made a bunch of New Year's resolutions that quickly fell by the wayside, this year I've only made one big one, and that is to improve my health. Considering that I've been using a cane or walker for the past two years since I was hospitalized, that's a tall order.

I may have mentioned before that I am a candidate for a full hip replacement, but my cardiologist strongly urges me not to pursue it. I have limited range of motion and bone-on-bone pain (with no painkillers), so life has not been easy. That combined with years of bad habits and poor eating has me needing to make some major changes if I want to have any quality of life as I rapidly head toward my 70s. If I'm ever going to do it, THIS IS THE YEAR!!!

I belong to TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly), and we start fresh every year. The first weigh-in of the year is tomorrow night, and that will be my starting point. I really have not made good use of the Fat Secret site, and I think that will go a long way in helping me succeed. Every little bit helps, right?

I have found in the past that recording EVERY last thing that I eat in a day makes me accountable to myself, and it also encourages me to see when I had "good eating" days! I am determined again to do this. I also have health issues which seem to deter me with meds and such...but I am determined and decided to be a healthier woman this year! I am here with you! WE can do this!

Get yourself some buddies on here and become more engaged in this site. It is a great source of support and accountability if you use it right. Be sure to log ALL your food daily. It can be a shock as to how fast those carbs and calories add up. Best of luck to you!
