Down south and the issue is boxes. In the old days before recycling, people saved boxes because they were handy. Stores have them to customers to get rid of them. Now they're crushed and reprocessed and if you need a box they're $5 a box? That means another bored box to be broken down and recycled. More boxes than ever. I also remember when they told us computers would get rid of paper. Idiots.

I feel your pain, disgust and frustration! You are emotionally, physically and mentally strong enough to organize and tackle the move. Have you considered going to the cheapest place and buying plastic tubs? The bottoms won't fall out and they are less likely to buckle when stacked on each other. Stuff clothes in pillow cases, wrap your mom's dish cloths around her dishes and glasses, you and your honey are resourceful people you can do this. How's your baby finger?

Swing by a liquor store - they have nice sturdy boxes for heavy bottles, they have great hours, and you can find them anywhere.

@soonsoonsoon Wish I'd thought of that, those boxes are perfect for vases separating silverware, glasses... U R so smart.

Dinner is doing the itch tingly thing and the people is gone. For those of you who want socialized medicine, talk to me before you vote.

Lowe's (and probably Home Depot too) sells boxes and it's not nearly as bad as $5 per box! Also the fold-up or down "banker boxes" sold at Office Depot and the like are reasonable and sturdy.

Convenience stores are also potentially good sources.

So what's on hold? Boxes, Mom and Dad, moving....or all of the above and don't forget to let us all know about socialized med......not too sure we don't already have it!!!

I've solved the box problem. After making the decision and booking a place, doctors have reassessed dad and denied that move. They never deal with you by being prepared. They always turn things into a fire. Mom is doing extremely well.

At least Mom is doing good....glad to hear that. Doctors? Refresh my memory....are they the ones who went to Doctor school??? About all we get anymore are Physician assisted people....sometimes they are very good....if you just need an antibiotic:(
