Irritation level = High
On Sunday night I was kept awake by a generator that keeps switching on at a business premises across the road from me....I wrote to the company at 1am telling them how I was feeling. They wrote back in the morning apologising and saying it should not be running at night and it wouldn't happen again.
Monday night just as I am about to fall asleep, my fire alarm upstairs goes off. We get up only to find the landing stairs light on and I don't remember switching it on - so now we are freaked out there is someone in the house and the bloody fire alarm won't switch off. After checking the entire house for hiding people and forced entry (there was nothing) and resetting the alarm...back to bed....five minutes later the alarm is going off again. Repeat the whole process of before...after the third time and now it's 2am...I calmly remove the alarm take it down to the kitchen and proceed to smash it apart with a meat hammer - it was very satisfying.
Last night my head hits the pillow at 11.30pm and I am just breathing a sigh of relief that all is quiet and the bloody generator across the road kicks in and starts up.....all night....stop start....stop start....URGGGGGGGGGGG
So best to try and avoid all irritation today....it's going to be hard :(

Oh, how annoying!! And a bit scary with the alarm going Off like that... Typical it's during the night, but it could have been the batteries which where getting low. Our neighbors has a little dog which barks nonstop when the people are out. Im seriously developing a tick every theme that little rat sets off!! So we've better practicing "breathing in - breathing out" before we blow our heads today... Have a great day! 🙋🙋🙋🙋

Hi TorilJ my fire alarms are sealed units (you have to replace the whole unit as they don't open to change the battery). They have like a low cheep noise if the battery is running low....but this was the full loud alarm going off! I feel your pain with the dog....another of my pet hates, but am lucky not to have any dogs living too close to add to my woes lol. Good plan with the breathing...have a good day too :)

must make sure I don't annoy either of you, especially seeing how good you are with a meat hammer

Hey Tracy, well what a bloody nightmare all that was, my alarm went off once and hubby was away, I screamed down the stairs I'm armed (I had the parent pole handle to my little boys bike), there was a loud noise in the back garden and when I looked out the window from upstairs there was someone in my garden, I screamed the police are on their way, my daughter was shaking, anyway turned out to be my next door neighbour who thought we were being burgled, yhe noise was him pushing the wheel ie bin out the way!!
