vegemite - what the hell, how could you and you a grown woman, you will be telling me it tastes nice!!!! Well done for the push ups strange howit works 10 down to 8, I would have started at 8 as a warm up set then hit 12 10 8, but if it works then go for it, it doesn't look to bad but there isn't any dinner mentioned.

Hey... I love vegemite! Especially on a piece of toast with a poached egg on top.....yum! I didn't log the rubbish I ate, though you may disagree :-)
The sets do look a little odd. I assume there's a reason they're set like that, so I'll trust it. Once I'd decided on the type of push up that suited me I did an initial test. 13. Not great but not totally horrific. At the end of next week I do another test. As long as I make a decent improvement on 13 I'll be happy it's all moving in the right direction.

ok I will forgive you, actually as much as I hate to say it vegemite isn't a bad food choice. Why didn't you log the rubbish you et????? feeling guilty ha ha. Keep doing the push ups the way the are saying them after all the are the people who designed the programme. It all depends on what you call a decent improvement, I would call 15 an improvement. I don't know how often per week you are doing them but remember your abs will be slightly fatiqued.

I would expect to be in the 20s somewhere. Yesterday my max was 16 after I'd done the other sets. So in an exhaustion test I should get over 20.

sorry for some unknown reason I thought you were talking about sit ups, its my turn for a blond moment, 16 after muscle fatique is good going, what is the rest breaks between sets

60 seconds. It says to take longer if I need to but that seems to be enough. It rises to 90 then 240 in later weeks.

yes that makes sense as you are doing more you will need a longer recovery time

@dog147 I must admit Marmite is a very strong salty taste. I think the first time I tried it I had a tiny little dab added to some peanut butter on toast. I think if I had slathered it on like a regular spread I would be in 'camp hate'. I was surprised to find recently that its such a high source of protein, although like I can't imagine you would make a protein shake from it ha!

god forbid, I think I will stick to vanilla flavour PHD shake. Hey maybe that's were I went wrong, maybe its time to try again, just cant get myself to rise to the occasion, Saying that it was the same with green olives, now I love them.

Try vegemite instead of marmite. Not nearly as salty and hasn't got that horrible gloopy texture... First time I got it was a substitute in an internet shop. (I don't believe they had no marmite). But I preferred it. Good stuff :-)
Push up stands? Against a wall? I didn't like them, found push ups on my knees, raising and crossing the ankles suits me best. If I leave me lower leg on the ground I don't balance my weight properly.

Best way to have vegemite or marmite on a piece of toast (I'm on a roll now........) - let the toast cool down. Put thick butter on the toast, then vegemite and mix them together so it changes colour. Makes a rather good sandwich as well if you put banana in it.....
What's dyno disc........?

oh push up bars... I have got some but I couldn't get on with them. I think the ones I've got are a little high. I have a fear of them falling over and snapping my wrist. Highly unlikely. I'm just doing exercises to strengthen my wrists. I tried doing push ups on my knuckles which seems comfortable enough......

Weirdly I've never really liked butter on any type of sandwich/toastie. And now I deliberately avoid saturated fat so wouldn't go for butter anyway. I Must try Marmite or Vegemite with Almond butter (which I recently discovered and love)

The pushup bars/stands in my link above are very stable, but also your hands should be about shoulder width apart, well they should be at a comfortable distance so they don't feel wobbly. You can also angle them so they are in-line with your elbows if you find that more comfortable.

Those York ones look so much better than mine. Mine are Kettler. I just tried to make one fall over, pushing at an odd angle on it, but the base is too wide. It's just an irrational fear of mine. I'll probably start using them eventually. But at the moment it's feeling okay on my wrists.
