amyskids's Journal, 20 August 2015

Been sitting in 138 point something for almost 2 weeks. Since Saturday, my deficits have been between 600-830. One day was actually 900. If there's no change by this Saturday, I need to change something to wake up my metabolism. Maybe need to eat MORE as this has happened before. ONE day this week, I ate 1700 calories. The rest have been between 1400-1600. In the past, I have found that I get stuck in a number when I consistently eat under 1600 calories. Maybe I'll go up today and tomorrow and see if the number goes down this weekend. I worked out Sat, Mon, Wed, and plan to work out tomorrow and Sat. I MIGHT go for a brisk walk this evening, weather providing and if my husband is able to be home to watch the kids. We'll see.

Yes Glen, I have a fitbit charge hr. I LOVE it!! I've had it since June 5 and have lost 9lbs since then (menstrual periods have interfered lol) But everyone hits plateaus every now and then. And on days I dont' work out or dont move as much, I plan to not EAT as much and don't realize that I'm actually burning more than anticipated and by the time I realize how much I've burned, it's too late to eat something. I have a new goal as of 2 days ago to reach 15K steps every day instead of just 10K :-)

Hey your just pounds away from your goal,, thats totally awesome . Maybe your body is just settling in to its set point . Sometimes stress can set you back or stall you as well . Try and not worry to much and it will happen . You have done amazing thus far,, I have no doubt you will hit goal very soon .

Oh Dear heavens Amy to be 32 and 121 lbs again instead of 64 and 202.384 lbs would be an absolute dream ~ and one day I will get back there. Keep working at it honey ~ drink your water ~ instead of asking your husband to look after your kids so you can go for a walk perhaps set up a circuit where you can exercise together in your yard & make it fun .... 50 star jumps then move on to five minutes running on the spot move on again to 50 touch toes cross overs move to running up & down whatever stairs you have for 5 minutes ~ catch, tag, tickling, trampoline jump ~ I thought those up in just a couple of minutes and of course the time of each exercise would depend on ages of your kiddies but it's such a lot of fun running & playing with your littlies & can certainly get your heart rate up which is perhaps what you may need to give those last few pounds the jolt off and maintaining this kind of play can be so wonderful for your family & keep them all healthy ~ what about getting Daddy involved too. I'm looking forward to hearing how you go 💃🏻👣💃🏻👣💃🏻👣

Jilly.beans...my daughter will work out with me sometimes lol. And sometimes my husband and I will walk in place together. But I actually do much better by myself and I really enjoy my walks.

Just a thought luv .... My daughter-in-law works quite long hours & in order to spend the treasured missed time with my grand kiddies she has lost over 30kg sticking rigidly to her diet plan & working out in their backyard circuit ~ the trampoline is by far the best for her because it really gets her heart a thumping wish I could have a go but with a really dodgy back & recovering from double hip tReplacement surgery it's not the best idea in my case. Good luck with what you do anyway ~ Ciao for now 🌹

Jilly.beans, I'd love a trampoline but I do childcare in my home and it'd make our insurance go through the roof lol. We take our kids to Jumpology on occasion and we all love it. And I'm home with my kids all day. My kids are 8.5, 5, and 2.5 and I homeschool them as well. They get plenty of ME time lol. That's why I like hubby to spend time with them while I go spend time by myself....that's not grocery shopping lol.

Yeah I get where you're commin' from Amy girl ~ bin there, done all that on my own many, many years ago which I guess is why I wore myself out, became so unfit, depressed, riddled with Osteoarthritis & would eat anything that wasn't nailed down. Good on you love, you sound like a lovely committed young Mum who's mindful of your health and weight & won't allow it to get way out of control before it becomes an embarrassment & a real health issue...... and you're just trying to nip it in the bud before I becomes a problem ~ Goodonya 😀

Jilly.beans, I grew up in a house with weight issues. My mom was over 300lbs when I was born and stayed that way through most of my childhood. I became chubby by the time I was 10 and was called names in school and even at 11, my mom basically told me I was fat. My brother was fat. My sister was average. When I was 12 a boy I liked called me fat, so every day after school, I ran up and down the street and put myself on a diet....eating only what would fit in a saucer plate (the kind you put your tea cup on!). My mom started doing herbalife to help her lose weight. She did lose 100lbs but after a few years, she quit and the weight came back. By the time I got to high school, I was "ok" with my weight but I also didn't eat right. No breakfast, snack size bag of chips with a soda for lunch, and something for dinner once I got home from work at 10pm. I was always tired. Had NO energy. My sister at this point had become anorexic...ate nothing and slept all day when she got home from school. Mom started another weight loss program called Freelife. Lost some weight but over the years, she quit and some weight came back. My mom has tried a total of 7 programs to help her lose weight over the past 32 years. You know why?? Because she's never been taught to eat right...she's only been taught to be dependent on pills and shakes or meals that are shipped to you. She has no idea how to do it on her own. So, when I became an adult, I was determined to be able to do this on my own! Since my sister got married, 13 yrs ago, she's gained weight and she and I have pretty much switched places. She's over 250lbs. My brother is still over 250lbs (fat....not muscle), my mom is over 250lbs. I keep trying to help them and teach them that if you eat the right foods and exercise, you don't have to waste your money on crappy programs your entire life! But they don't want to listen to me. My sister is slowly turning around. She got a fitbit, like me, to help keep her motivated and I'm going to do everything I can to help her. I will NOT turn in to my mom! I gained weight each time I was pregnant. My heaviest was 180 after my 3rd was born. I told my husband NOT to let me get up to 200lbs unless I'm pregnant! lol I am determined to be healthy..a healthy weight and healthy body inside and out and I'm going to do it by eating real food and exercising!

Amy I so admire that you've managed to survive all of the brutality & mental abuse that comes with overweight teasing ~ the fact that even your own Mum & siblings took it upon themselves to humiliate you as well is particularly hurtful ~ I am surprised that with every hurtful issue in your life you didn't become a yoyo dieter & binge eater like me. I really respect your determination to restore your weight to its "normal" after you had each of your babies and it was done in a sustainably, healthy way. My daughter-in-law became involved in Isagenix 5 months ago and has lost in excess of 30 kg & has recently signed my son up who's lost 11.9kg and 84cm in his 1st 30 days. That's all very well if you have in excess of $350 each to spend per month but I am struggling on a disability pension

..... oooops I accidentally tapped myself out ~ anyway basically what I am trying to do is invent my own scheme that is healthy with no gimmicks ~ because I like fluid far more than solids ~ other than when I am bingeing I prefer a lovely fruity milkshake so I've brought a great Hi protein 19 gm Lo Carb 3.4 gm Whey Powder which I have in the morning & evening and a nutritional meal containing about 600 calls in between with Granny Smith apples & raw mixed nuts in between whilst drinking a lovely cold fresh cleanse drink I make up for myself containing water

...... hahaha did it again sliced oranges & lemons, cucumber & ginger. The Whey protein drinks really satisfy me & I frequently don't have a snack but have a bigger lunch or dinner because I don't want to force food on to myself when my mindset is off that of a binge eater at the moment ~ I haven't had a slice of bread, cake, cereal or sugar since I started but I am eating salmon & salad, avocado, quinoa, chai, eggs, yoghurt, bacon ..... Oh just all sorts of goodies that haven't really passed my lips in a hurry since I've been on my own & not had to cook for anyone. I wish you well Amy; you're so close to your goal ~ keep in touch & if you have any tips let me know. Ciao for now 💐
