Ok doing a fasting 2 days a week, South Beach 4 days a week, and 1 day no restrictions. Today is my first day fasting. Been 14 hours, I am feeling a little lightheaded, so not sure I will make it till 8pm tonight, but going to try my best. Good news, not driving today so if I pass out I wont be driving a car...hmmm is this a good idea?

Why the whole day off with no restrictions? Very likely & possible that you'll undo all the work/torture you've done and endured the rest of the week, as many can attest here. You have a long way to go, and this is the time to create new habits. Maybe try a day of moderation instead (not going over, say, 1500 calories)?

Sorry, I don't support fasting. It makes your body think it's going to need to drastically conserve energy; i.e., your metabolism WILL go down. Not exactly what you want when dieting. And I'm ditto with soonsoonsoon on the day of moderation.

Intermittent fasting is a bout having a shortened window of eating time - not usually total fasting. We do not want our metabolism to adjust and slow down either. Good Luck!

I agree with Catolita. I hope you get feeling stronger! Please be careful with fasting! :)

losing weight is best done by lowering calories slowly each week so it doesn't shock your body cause you may just gain the weight back and then some when you start eating normal again. if you really need to, snack on little things like almonds and healthy snacks all day to keep your metabolism active and stop it from slowing down.
