Struggling today. Work stress is insane and has started to affect my sleep. Pulling 12 hour days and dreaming about work in my sleep. No good.

Also struggling to see any changes with my appearance. I mean, 30 lbs should look different, right? I've dropped more than a size and have increased in muscle, but I still feel like I look exactly the same. Maybe I need to do some 'in progress' pictures. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) my sister got married when I was at my heaviest weight, so I've got tons of awful before photos.

Notelaine, first of all, a thousand congratulations on your weight loss! You rock!!! When I first lost my weight, I felt the same way you do. For me, everyone else could see the loss, but I couldn't. If I may make this suggestion: look at your clothes. If, when you look at them, you see and feel the same way you did before you lost your weight, it may be time for a different look. I found that when I changed a couple of my outfits, I began to see myself in a different and better light. If we continue to wear the same things we wore before we lost the weight, we won't see any differences because, mentally, it will be like seeing the same person still. I do hope your stress is relieved very soon, as I know stress can cause weight gain. Be strong, stay encouraged, and keep rocking!!!

Thank you for the great advice!! And I am trying to work on stress reduction. Normally, things don't bother me, but it's just been a bad month. The thought of having the same clothes and feeling the same actually makes a lot of sense. I'm still wearing the same clothing (minus two new pairs of jeans) that I wore at my starting weight. I think that sounds like a perfect excuse for some shopping :)

Wearing the same clothes makes so much sense...look the same, feel the same. I deal with the same issue. Thanks for sharing this

If you're gaining muscle while losing weight then you won't go down as much in size as you think you should. When I started working, because I did a lot of lifting and carrying heavy loads long distances, I built up a lot of muscle. Physically I looked the same and my measurements were almost the same, but I was noticeably less squishy. When I checked my fat percentage with calipers, it had gone down 20% from when I started working. I gained a little weight over all, but when you put on muscle faster than you burn fat the results just aren't as visibly obvious.

Well, theory was definitely accurate! Went out and bought some better fitting clothing yesterday. Wore a new outfit today, and have been complimented by two coworkers!
