My opinion is that you need carbs, protein, fat, all of it in the right doses. I would recommend to sticking with whole grain carbs so you don't get the crash

Everybody's different and I've seen a variety of research backing up different nutritional mixes and methods -- listen to 'cues' from your body . . . I don't pay as much attention to overall carbs (grams, etc.) as much as just trying to make sure the carbs I'm eating are more 'quality' carbs (from whole foods such as fruits/veggies and whole grains as Nicole suggests). But that's just me -- low carb works very well for some, but can be difficult to maintain once weight loss is achieved.

everyone is different I guess my body is very "processed" carb sensitive,, I avoid any of that stuff,, but love my veggies and fruits ,, and that's where the nutrition is . I don't eat fruit very often because of the sugar,, but I know that if I have a choice between a bowl of berries and a candy bar,, I am taking the berries :-)

I have been doing low carb for years...the wrong kind of carbs ( anything white pretty much) is horrible for your body. if you would think back to 1800's time and what they ate- youre better off. I personally cant eat white bread, only the cheap Walmart wheat bread and I wont gain...anything other than that ( and limited quantities too) and I start gaining. if you wonder which carbs are triggers for you (another of mine is too much dairy), start atkins and move up the "rungs" of the carb ladder. you pretty much reintroduce yourself to every food group, one at a time to see what bloats you and makes you gain weight. just my two cents :)

pretty much what everyone else has said, it depends on you. Really just boils down to calories in < calories out. If low carb helps you achieve that, great. I don't eat any processed carbs, mostly because I know I overeat them. I can't even keep bread in the house.
