I picked up a Polar FT60 Heart Rate Monitor and it has been very handy on runs and during other exercise. I've learned, for example, that archery is a great fat-burning exercise that doesn't leave "zone 1" cardio but martial arts stays predominantly in the higher cardio zones (not fat burning, but performance improving). The item was expensive, but unlike the bodybugg it has no subscription fee (their MSRP is pretty similar).

So, if you're looking for a way to track your exercise and calories burned that is a little more accurate than website estimators I recommend it. I bought it for the Heart Rate Monitor, mainly, but after a week I can't imagine not having it.

I have tested it against some estimators and the two can be pretty close (as long as the estimator takes body fat or weight into account), but a lot of the exercise I do doesn't have any "estimates" so this is very handy.

Now, if I could manage to not pull my quadricep muscle every time I do sprints (and yes, I do a lot of warm up beforehand, just not enough apparently...) I'd be gold. :)

I've been avoiding sprints while I've been training distance for a similar reason. Every time I do all out sprints I end up with cramps in my quads that keep me from doing anything else. I've always figured it stemmed form a lack of flexibility, but I haven't really looked into it yet.
