I remember in january that I said that this year is going to be my year. It too my 5 months to get it in my head. The past 4 years have been hard finacially and emotionally. I lost my dad 1 1/2 yrs ago. I have no family left besides my DH side and my children. That is still hard. I don't have much friends because we are at different parts in our lives and I had no money at all to go out. At one point we couldn't even buy basic food. I worked on call for daycares as a cook. In October I got a job as chef at a retirement home. It took till febuary to get our finances on track and have no late bills left to pay. I LOVE I do mean love my job. The résidents are 65yrs and older and mostly women. They are wonderful. Since that my finances are Under control and I have a very well paying job. I can relax and take care of myself.... finally. So one day at a time and one pound at a time. I don't care if it takes 5 yrs to get to my healthy weight but slowly I will get there.

It sounds to me like you have turned a corner in your life, with finances now doing well and a job that you love. So yes take the time now to focus on yourself and become the healthier person that you want to be. One day at a time, one change at a time. It adds up over time to get where you want to be.
