why do you take your blood sugar ???

I am diabetic and have had extremely high blood sugars (400+) for years, and I take insulin shots. I was at 120 units of long lasting insulin and 65 units of fast acting insulin three times a day. But now I am down to just 60 units of long lasting a day and no fast acting.

just in case here is the message I sent to you: Posted: 21 May 2015, 19:45 It is a really simple base recipe I developed after reading a bunch of different recipes. I use equal amounts of Butter, Cream Cheese, and Coconut oil. Some vanilla extract (approximately 1 TB depending on how much I am making) Flavorings such as Walden Farms Raspberry (0 carbs, 0 calories). Splenda to taste. First step is to soften the butter and cream cheese. we use a kitchen aid mixer with the paddle. start with the butter and beat on high speed until it is smooth and soft. Add the cream Cheese and continue to beat on high until thoroughly incorporated and soft. Add coconut oil and continue to beat. When it is all blended stop and scrape the bowl down and add the vanilla and flavoring, mix completely. taste and add splenda until it is how you like it. This is just a base that you can add whatever you like to it. I am working on some savory ones this weekend, I think I can make a pizza fat bomb and others. I will let you know how it turns out. Also remember the base is just the equal amounts of cheese butter and coconut oil. You can add any flavorings that you like to your taste. I have used dark cocoa powder to make the chocolate one with vanilla and almond extract. This does take more sweetener but is my wife's favorite. Feel free to message me with any questions or comments. Very Happy

Are you Type1 or Type 2 diabetic? If type 2, ask your doctor about either Victoza or Bydureon............... My wife was diagnosed as being diabetic in November 2012 and put on 2 different insulin's (fast & slow). She started on Victoza in January 2013 and hasn't had insulin since the end of January 2013. In 2014 insurance stopped covering the Victoza and the doctor switched her to Bydureon which is working about the same as the Victoza. She needed to loose weight and both have helped her loose as well as maintain now that she has lost it.

I have type 2 diabetes. I am a veteran being treated at the VA clinic. They won't give those meds just what is on their approved list, they are not interested on the best treatments just the cheapest. And they are very anti-Atkins (low carb diets), does not matter that it is the only one that has ever worked for me, which is why I am not telling my doctor until the Labs speak for themselves.

Good for you....I wouldn't tell either:) Made some of your FAT BOMBS today....used cacoa powder (unsweetened) and added splenda and YUM! Easy to do and your directions were wonderful. I have a kitchen aid mixer so I just followed what you did. Great tasting on the spoon and they are in the freezer as I write. I also made bacon wrapped shrimp and bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers so I won't be tempted to get into the chocolate chips tonight. Thanks for the help.

Our neighbors father was going through the VA for medical attention. They came to the conclusion that all they wanted to do was the easy, doesn't matter stuff and ignore the hard life threatening stuff..... The kids got together and got insurance and a real doctor for him. Unfortunately, it was too late and he died a few months later...... Maybe some day you can get better care. Better medicine is out there if the rich would let everyone have it.....
