DRL5's Journal, 27 April 2015

I'm really hoping to get more movement in this week. The weather is supposed to be better, so I should be able to get outside after work. Maybe I can pull some weeds or rake out flower beds. I hope to get down to the 180's by next week. Even though my weight loss decision has been purely health-based, I now have another reason to lose. My daughter just got engaged on Friday and we will be having a wedding in about 18 months! I want to be a "normal size" mother-of-the-bride! I never like being in the spotlight or having people notice me, and in my mind, if I'm "normal" then I won't be as noticeable. Does anybody understand/relate to this? Or am I just crazy?

What you have journaled is totally understandable. 18 months is a good amount of time that will pass ALL too quickly...Keep on keeping on Buddy...I look forward to YOUR continuing progress.

You're not crazy, but I am sure you will be beautiful as the mother of the bride, regardless of your size. :)

No matter what size you are, confidence plays a huge role on what and who you attract. Don't be so caught up on size, but more concerned about health and well-being. I hope you and your daughter get to bond more now and you all get to pick your "new" dress size.

I understand perfectly. Last Saturday's wedding was a serious stimulation for me for the past year and I wasn't even mother of the bride. They both are former students and now friends. I just didn't want to be an embarrassment with my former huge self.
