I'm back!!! I've enjoyed a variety of taste treats during my little vacation and tomorrow morning Frank and I will note the shift in numbers!! I am reminding myself that indeed I shall see a spike but it doesn't matter. I'll be back in my normal everyday healthy eating routine, drinking my water, exercising (which I did do while I was gone!) and the journey just continues on. Of course ... there is still that nagging voice which tells me ... "just don't weigh for a week or so and be 'really good' and then get back on the scale!" I choose not to listen to that evil woman who whispers such horrid lies in my ear!! LOL!!! That type of thinking is exactly how I have managed to lose and then regain 30-40 pounds or more a year over the past 5 years or so!!! I enjoyed the giant cheeseburger at the Helvetia Tavern, and the steak (no disrespect to you vegetarians out there!), my apple pie sundae, the margaritas, long island ice teas, and the many varieties of brew I had the opportunity to taste!! I even enjoyed the Costco hot dog we got on the way home!! LOL!!! So ... this is my pep talk to myself ... no grumbling allowed!! Not a moment wasted feeling "bad" or "regret." I had a great time and now back to REALITY!!! I hope y'all have been doing well in my short absence!! I'll have to catch up on your journals!!

Sounds as though you had a good time and enjoyed all that you had to eat. Great attitude on your eating. Don't let that evil woman get to you, just get back to eating healthily and everything will be fine.

Your mini vacation sounds awesome! You are skillful at NOT beating yourself over the head with the black cast iron frying pan in which those delicious burgers were fried! I wish I could be better at that approach - so - thanks for being my role model in that regard. Also - thank you - thank you for echoing my theory that weighing every day is okay. I weigh every day and endeavor to ACCEPT the NATURAL UPS AND DOWNS. The giant picture - the vast scheme - the grand design - that's what this PROCESS is about. Have a good one Girl!

Poet ... I know it doesn't work for everyone but I MUST weigh everyday ... at least for now. While I do still get occasionally irked by the fluctuations in the long run I KNOW that it works for me. Thank you for noticing my new found skill at NOT beating myself up. It is a newly developed skill ... I have been the master of self-depracation for most of my life ... my husband would attest to that. I truly like this better. It has taken me a long time to be okay with being human and fallible. Being kind to myself about my body has been the most recent part of acceptance. It is something I MUST practice regularly ... my journal is a place I practice that!! You have a good one too ... as you count down to SCHOOL TIME!!!
