izzypup68's Journal, 10 April 2015

I leave tomorrow for a week with the family. Mom is already listing all of the places she wants to take us out to eat. There is always much drinking and eating on these visits home. I have been mentally preparing myself with strategies to keep close to my plan but still enjoy myself. My goal is to hold steady. I don't have to eat or drink too much to have a good time! :) I plan to keep up with exercise while I am there. I am so looking forward to seeing everyone and I am going to concentrate on that. Wish me luck...

You will be fine. No worries. Life is not only about learning to eat right but to enjoy family and friends as well. You will make smarter choices without even realizing it :)

Good luck! It's always hard to travel and keep your healthy eating in line, but you can make good choices. You're right you don' t have to eat or drink too much to have a good time, so remember that when faced with temptations. I hope you have fun!

Enjoy yourself. I think it will become natural for you to chose most of your food wisely, because you're aware of it now. It's also going to be natural for you to cheat a little--go ahead, because I really think it will only be a little. The key to staying on a diet is maintaining a happy balance where you are happy. Have a fun time and make sure you tell us all about it! I tried the "Skinny Girl" Margarita tonight and it wasn't for me. Ended up dumping it. I save enough calories for wine, though. LOL. I like to have fun on the weekends :)
