One step at a time-and tracking is a great way to start and make yourself more aware. This can be the time you start a new lifestyle, not a diet.

You know Susan I felt the same way, until one day I got tired of the FOOD being in charge of my life, that I decided that I WAS in charge of my life and not the other way around, and that is when I started to drop the weight...I weight 225lbs at one time...But I have been the most successful on Atkins..I started 2 years ago at 185 and dropped to 158 and I have been able to keep it off (except I put 7 pounds during the holiday, but I managed to dropped it off this month).....and BTW my name is also Suzanne.. So good luck and I believe that YOU can get in charge of your life and not the FOOD get in charge of your life.

Instead of "eating your emotions", grab a bottle of water and drink them.
Not only will filling up on water take away the room for food, it's also better for you.
Hang in there, you can do it......

Suzanne, thank you for the words of encouragement! You have done fantastic and I am so happy for you! Scout1idf, I will try "drinking my emotions" with water. Great idea! I have been on the fat secret website for years, but this is the first time I have actually taken advantage of the journal option. Wow, it really makes a difference. Thanks to all of you for taking time out of your busy days to encourage me! You guys ROCK! :)
