onmyway's Journal, 15 July 2009

Grr. Tossed and turned all night, got very little sleep...and it's reflected in my weight this morning, which is up almost half a lb. My weight is always up if I don't sleep well. Oh well, should be easy to get it back on track, and I have nothing out of the ordinary planned today. Hopefully if I can manage a normal nights sleep tonight it will turn it around.

Sleep is a good thing and it is frustrating when it doesn't cooperate with us!! Great awareness that your weight is connected to your sleep. It is also positive that you are not letting it derail you. You are on a positive track ... hang in there and I'll think sleepy, restful thoughts for you!!

Weight and sleep go hand in hand. You are doing a great job noticing what is working against you and what is working for you. Just keep doing what you're doing and everything will work out the way you want it to.

Yeah, the sleep/weight issue is one I figured out on a diet long ago. lol I know if I watch the clock most of the night, my scale won't be pleased in the morning. It's one of the reasons I go against the commonly held idea of not weighing every day. For me, it's a good tool. The analytical side of me, I guess...always looking for problems to resolve. I don't let it discourage me so much as I start trying to find the source of the problem in order to get around it. I can still tell a difference in how my clothes are hanging, so the exercise is really helping, even if it isn't registering too much in actual numbers yet. Today I go on the defensive...no new foods introduced, and up the water intake even more.
