"Despite sticking mostly to the diet" is the key, lol (most likely). Consistency is key with weight loss. Maybe you had too much sodium. Make sure your tracking your food, drinking water, being active, getting enough protein and fiber, watch sodium, etc.

I actually have to deliberately add sodium- I'm not really a salt eater, but on the diet I'm on (very little processed food) I just don't get enough sodium and I end up getting cramps. I'm also taking a magnesium supplement now. Cramps all gone. Suzi, you could be right with the "mostly", but the deviations weren't things I'd expect to cause weight GAIN. It was little things that usually would either have no effect, or may flatten my weight loss graph, like eating a healthy restaurant meal, and I think I had a Baskin Robbins' sugar-free ice cream. I'm really getting somewhat frustrated with a diet that is sooo restrictive, yet every time I take a minor deviation, I PUT ON weight. I haven't been tracking all my foods, as it was all too time-consuming and consuming every ounce of mental energy as well. So I deliberately have not been 100% focused, as I have decided that a) focusing on food all the time isn't healthy, and b) it's pretty near impossible to stop external forces ruining your best-laid plans. At least once or twice every week, something will be thrown into my life that upsets my food plans, so now I'm just trialling going with the flow. But I am thinking that I might need to change off keotgenic to a different diet, as I'm becoming more convinced that keto diet requires 110% commitment.

On the upside, 2 weeks later, I've nearly lost all of the 3kg and ready to try to tackle this again. Though still none the wiser as to how to avoid whacking on weight like that again. I get frustrated that I can't pinpoint what causes weight gains, or for that matter, weight losses. Sometimes it IS fluid, more often it's fat. Hmmm.
