slease's Journal, 04 June 2011

Wow, I haven't done a journal entry in a while! Well, I think that I have finally found the doctor who will help me get myself back in order-yippee! It appears that ALL of my hormones are low-estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, pregnenolone, and my adrenal hormones. My T3 thyroid is lower than it should be because my body is not properly converting the T4 (inactive) to T3 (active) hormone. Because the T3 is still in the "normal" range no doctor would treat me for this issue, until now. I am on a T3 replacement as well as bioidentical hormone therapy plus supplementing DHEA and pregnenolone. I have always known that something was wrong but regular MD's just kept telling me I was eating too much and exercising too little. I am down 3.2 pounds since Tuesday and I am hopeful that I have finally found the answers to my problems. I also am feeling better and for the first time in a long time feel hopeful about the future. I will keep you all posted on how my treatment is working and if it really is helping my weight. The doctor that I am seeing is an MD who specializes in anti-aging medicine. So far I am very impressed with her. Please, please, please let this finally be the answer for me!!

Hey that's great! Do keep us posted! I have been trying to be good about taking my vitamins and supplements too because I know that can interfere with weight loss. I wish I knew a doctor that I could trust. It takes so long to find one. I am glad you found one that gave you hope. :)
