Well, I'm not really losing any weight yet with the T3 and the hormone replacement. That said, I am feeling so much better. I am sleeping well, my hot flashes are pretty much gone, and my sense of well-being is greater. I'm still hopeful that once my hormones are fully balanced that I will start seeing some weight come off. With taking the T3 I have noticed a marked improvement in my hypothyroid symptoms, which is great. I guess that I just need to be patient and keep up with the therapies and hope that not only will I continue to see improvements in all of the areas that I was having issues with, I will also start to see some results on the scale. I just need to keep watching what I am eating. I have been making some small changes to get back to a low carb diet, which hopefully will work this time. Things are looking up!

Wow, I haven't done a journal entry in a while! Well, I think that I have finally found the doctor who will help me get myself back in order-yippee! It appears that ALL of my hormones are low-estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, pregnenolone, and my adrenal hormones. My T3 thyroid is lower than it should be because my body is not properly converting the T4 (inactive) to T3 (active) hormone. Because the T3 is still in the "normal" range no doctor would treat me for this issue, until now. I am on a T3 replacement as well as bioidentical hormone therapy plus supplementing DHEA and pregnenolone. I have always known that something was wrong but regular MD's just kept telling me I was eating too much and exercising too little. I am down 3.2 pounds since Tuesday and I am hopeful that I have finally found the answers to my problems. I also am feeling better and for the first time in a long time feel hopeful about the future. I will keep you all posted on how my treatment is working and if it really is helping my weight. The doctor that I am seeing is an MD who specializes in anti-aging medicine. So far I am very impressed with her. Please, please, please let this finally be the answer for me!!
