Up a pound, no excuses today. I knew the weekend was gonna catch up with me. After being snowed in yesterday with our 11 inches of snow I learned I don't have my eating as much under control as I should. I learned I need to still walk away from some stuff at the grocery store like pizza. I love pizza but I can't stop at one piece, I'm not good until I have eaten half of it or more depending on my boredom level. I don't care what some of the people on here say, losing weight is hard work. Controlling my impulse to eat is hard work for me. I am a junk food addiction and I have the body to prove it.
Weekends are hard for me because I'm alone and that is when all the demons come out. But today is another day and I put myself back on track and hopefully I will lose that pound quickly and start towards my goal again.

219.0 lb Lost so far: 11.0 lb.    Still to go: 39.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

Focus on one thing at a time. Remove pop then candy then whatever else is your vise. At some point losing the weight will feel better then shoving food in your mouth. We have all been here so take it one step at a time. You can't change every habit over night. So if you want to eat the junk then make extra movement to balance things out. And then when you realize how much movement it takes to burn something off you may decide its too much work you would rather go without. Make sure you drink your water before you eat it will help fill your belly ... I enjoy lemon and lime slices in mine and get drinking green tea. Help surpress the appetite and gets your metabolism going. it's snowy here so I try to walk when roads are clear. Also do leg lifts or jumping jacks when cooking or squats when brushing teeth. Anything counts as exercise. Get creative. I wish you well On your goal

I absolutely agree with you about how difficult losing weight is. But stay motivated and consistent. You can do it.

I was just thinking the same thing in my head, I used to be in such good control of my cravings and made better choices. 20 lbs ive gained proves I need to get back in that mind set. its soo hard to.

I am exactly the same way. I cannot control my cravings from about 3 PM - 6PM. I can eat 500+ in empty calories and cant stop. I am working hard to change this habit because that change alone would equate to a pound a week weight loss!! Easy to say, hard hard to do. Keep it up.

You can have that pound off quickly. Losing weight isn't easy at all, but it's worth all the effort. One meal at a time, one day at a time, you can do this.

Not to worry. One pound is not a big deal. Daily fluctuations go up and down, even up to 3 lbs pounds (hopefully, not more !) daily. Could be much worse. Pizza has a lot of sodium, so you could be looking at additional water weight. You did okay. Pizza is one of my trigger foods. I really don't even want to be around it now because I know one slice will lead to more :) Yes, I have a lot more will power now but I don't want to test it! Jump back on track. Good luck!

I am also a pizza lover and feel for you about never stopping at one slice. I also agree that losing weight is hard. A big part of the process for me seems to be forgiving my bad days and starting fresh again and again. It is not always easy, but I do like the way I feel when I exercise and eat right. I do like it when I can put away my big jeans. I am far from perfect. My favorite foods are all the ones that I probably should not be eating. I have been working hard to try new foods and healthier recipes. This year, I have started doing meatless Mondays, in an effort to force myself to try more vegetable based recipes that I normally wouldn't bother with. (My family hasn't caught on to that plan yet! :) ) Hang in there and keep trying.

Losing weight and dieting is hard work definitely, and takes lots of will power!!! I'm right in that same boat with you, and totally understand. Just keep trying to get a little better each day then the day before. It takes baby steps to make it work!
