I have a hard time with the scale. I don't know if I should get one that's not digital and use it for better results. Yesterday on my official weigh in day I was 218 and today it said I was 2 pounds lighter at 216, and then when I stepped on it 5 minutes later (no food or drink between time) and it said I was 218 again. I have read where digital scales keep the same weight in memory and you need to weigh something different before you step on to get an accurate reading but don't know if that's true. Do any of my buddies have issues with scale reading and what do you weigh with???

So, the problem with digital scales is that it has to decide on a fixed number. Doing things like moving your arms or legs or touching a wall for balance will change the amount of force your body exerts on the scale. If it settled on a number while you were moving even if you stopped, it will be off slightly. To 'reset' scales that do have a memory you can just climb on again with a big bottle of shampoo or something.

Oh, I have the same problem with my scale. Thank you for posting this so I know what to do. I usually weigh myself three times while holding my breath and trying to stay completely balanced.

I can't comment on a digital scale since I don't have one, but it's possible also that the floor surface could effect it, if it doesn't sit level or evenly supported. I have a love/hate relationship with my scale, depending on what it says when I step on it. :)

Huh! interesting. I usually get on twice and if I get two different numbers, I go a 3rd time.
