Eagles 2012's Journal, 23 May 2011

I honestly wish I could control my ability to eat on the weekends. I usually drink quite a bit on the weekend (sorry I like to blow off steam). If I do not eat anything before I drink, I always seems to overeat after drinking (never good). So this week, if I do drink, I will eat a very large dinner. Maybe this will also cut doen on the amount of empty calories that I drink.

BTW, Chinese Food is the devil. I had a tuna roll and some chicken lo mein on Sunday. So good, but so much sodium!

Weigh in on Thursday.

I think drinking may have been my culprit this weekend too. I have a pretty big meal a couple of hours before hand, and find that I don't really snack much at all when I drink. I need to learn not to let my girlfriends push me to take shots... lol I'd drink a lot less that way! Good luck in the upcoming week!

Oooh the dreaded weekends!!! I had a REALLY hard time with that when I first started. It's been almost a year now but I have it under control, it's so hard on the weekends when you lose that structure that you have when you're working and all. Oh yeah and the drinking too....so agree with you there with the bad eating after drinking!! LOL! Guess it's good to know that there are other's out there that struggle with the same things. :) It'll get easier for you, it's all about breaking the habits that you have been used to all this time. A new lifestyle does take some time to adapt to but you're on the right track! =D

I still struggle with the whole drinking = unwind thing. Hey, after spending an hour every afternoon in Los Angeles traffic, who can blame me? :o) Seriously though, I have no excuses. I have a good home life, so I really don't need a drink or three to unwind. This weekend had a tasty BBQ with the wife and kids, whipped up some spicy home made jalapeno poppers... and of course some drinks. I hear you on the sodium too; my intake is way too high which results in erratic weigh-ins.

Here's the part where I told you I'll "tell it like it is". ;) Drinking alcohol really has no place in a weightloss regimen. To say otherwise is really a candy coated justification to do so. It is expensive calorie wise, provides zero nutrition, and takes over liver function to process them while all other macros have to wait in line behind it to be processed. Not to mention the lack of inhibition and judgement when it comes to muchies. If you must drink, be alert of your master plan. ;)

I prefer candy coated :o) Speaking for myself, there is no doubt that drinking is unhealthy in any diet. Fatsecret is an effective way to "vent", while the underlying conviction is that a change needs to be made. Changes are difficult for many people, including myself, and therefore necessitate some time to take root. Knowing that I'm not alone in my struggle helps. Now... speaking of candy... :o)
