* SUGAR: 89 * BP: 116/62 * PULSE: 65

OCTOBER REPORT: 12.2 LBS LOST
OCTOBER AVG: SUGAR: 101.3 BP: 118/66 PULSE: 65
EXERCISE AVG: WALK: 16.5 HRS PER DAY
HOME EXERCISE: 31.5 HRS PER DAY

In Honor of Veteran's Day, I'm using my Dad's Navy picture from World War II. He served from early 1944 to late 1945 aboard the USS Auburn (AGC-10). The ship received two Battle Stars during WWII for:

Iwo Jima Operation - Assault and Occupation 2/19/45 to 3/27/45
Okinawa Gunto Operation - Assault and Occupation 5/31/45 to 6/21/45

My father said he saw the flag raising on Mt Suribachi, Iwo Jima from his ship.

The ship served as the Flag ship during the Okinawa Operation and had over 60 Kamikaze attacks with little success due to the destroyers assigned to protect it.

After the surrender of Japan, the ship went to several ports in Japan assisting in the Occupation of Japan. Included in these ports was Nagasaki, the 2nd city of Japan that the Atomic Bomb was used.

My Father passed on September 24, 2003 and I miss him very much.

Ummm good on the loss and your bp and sugar are doing great, but your exercise averages? Are those supposed to be per week? On my calendar there aren't 31 hours in a day.

Msbuggirl, your right. Those are averaged minutes per day. When I walk, it's usually for 25 minutes and exercise is usually 50 minutes. I don't walk and exercise every day but I'm looking to bring that combined average up to 60 minutes per day. Thanks.

Sorry for your loss, but glad you're honoring the memory of your father. My dad was a WWII vet too. He washed out of U.S. Army Air Force pilot school. May have been for the best as he made it through the war alive, stationed at a remote air base in North Africa next to a French Foreign Legion fort. He died last year. Lost an uncle, a medic, in the hedgerows of Normandy.

I was just really confused when your list said hours instead of minutes lol.

My father-in-law was a WWII vet as well. He did Europe and ended up in a German POW camp where he got frostbite in the winter. He's not doing well but he'll be 91 in January and he's still kicking.
