Every little bit helps!

Today I have a weird work schedule (well, for me, anyway). So I'm going have to go out to eat...

I have discovered this amazing little Mexican take-out place just a block away from my theatre. It's called z-teca. They serve these fabulous burritos in whole wheat tortillas...mmmm! Problem is, the burritos are, quite literally, as big as my head. Huge in fact! But so tasty! I had a few bites of a friend's last week...and now I really want one all to myself. The thing has to have, like, 600 or more calories in it! Did I mention its huge?!? *sigh* Maybe if I'm just careful with what I eat this morning...hmm...or ride my bike a little longer...hmmm....or maybe I'll just wait until the weekend when I can share it with someone. *sigh*

Sometimes I miss the days when I wasn't thinking about what every little bite of everything was going to do when I ate it. Is this food helping me or hurting me? Is there ever a time when you don't have to think about this stuff and you can just purely enjoying eating without any consequences?

I dunno.. I was watching a recorded episode of The Biggest Loser yesterday and after these ladies lost all this weight, they were still freaking out. They wouldn't have a glass of wine or eat anything that wasn't a fruit, vegetable or lean meat. They really went from one extreme to another. Jillian had to talk them into learning how to have some balance and not EVERYTHING you eat has to be good for you. But I know it's hard not to be constantly on guard because you're afraid if you let your defenses down, you'll just start eating anything and everything again. So I guess the answer is yes and no, from my point of view. You will always need to be vigilant in NOT overdoing it, but I wouldn't worry about it EVERY DAY. Does that make sense? Hey congrats on your loss! I wish you continued success!

You're right...I don't want to become a food extremist. I think I'll just wait until my little dinner break and see how I feel. There are other fast, fresh and fabulous places I can run to in the neighbourhood.

Maybe you could order that burrito and a to go box and cut it in half. Put half of it in the to go box right away and then you could eat the other half. That way you have some for later. If they're as big as you say then half should be plenty. Just a thought.
