Well this is a good start to the day. We are going to take the kids to the fair today and I am going to eat fair food, so I probably won't be able to log my food intake properly. I am not going to feel guilty about it, but I will try to eat small portions (i.e. share mine with the youngest two) so that I don't overdo it too badly. Maybe all the screaming and crying on the rides will burn off more calories ;)

It's a good idea to plan ahead of time if and when you go off your eating plan. That way you can control the portions, like you said, but you also can avoid the debilitating guilt that comes with overeating. As long as you determine it is only temporary and you get right back on your diet, you're okay. And you don't deprive yourself of enjoying what everyone else is doing!

Well I didn't do too badly, although I didn't start off the day very well. As per usual, I was so busy getting everything ready for our big day at the fair that I didn't eat anything and only had coffee yesterday morning. All of a sudden it was 2:30 in the afternoon and I started getting queasy on the carousel. Since I don't get motion sick, I correctly assumed that I was dehydrated and suffering from low blood sugar. After we had some water and ate some lunch, I felt much better and we went on some more rides. I decided on chicken yakisoba (teriyaki flavor) and a sno cone for dessert. I was really tempted by all the deep fried things they have now (Oreos, Snickers, caramel apple pie!) but it was too hot for that so a sno cone really hit the spot. I am not really sure of the calories, but I picked the highest calorie ones on the list here just to be sure. All in all, a good day and the kids had a great time, especially the 5yr old who had never been to the fair before.
