IM BACKI've been away for a long time Ive been so ill and so down but ALL that is behind me now. I put on so much weight and my doctor telling me its ok get my health sorted first did not help. My health nearly sorted but with the weight I gained not helping me mentally. I went out for first time in months this weekend and the look of shock and horror on some of the faces of people I met. Some were very direct and said it to me, I could not be annoyed or angry as its the truth. Ive never being the type of person to take offence by the truth, its the ones who say to yr face "wow yr looking good" and raise their eyes to their pals that I cant abide.
So starting back on meal-replacement diet. 2 shakes and a healthy veg/chicken/fish dish for one meal. Ive said it to my new doctor and she said its up to me, it wont interfer with the tablets Im on. I know her whole attitude was against it but she knows Im near break point with my weight, so said she would monitor me and i'll get test done next month, if any problems Im to stop. She cant be any fairer than that.

There is no support at all in Ireland for weight issues. My Doc surgery has a visiting dietitian every first tuesday, you see them 1 week and could be 3 month, if you are lucky, before the return visit, Impossible to get appointment with hospital one unless you go into hospital with heart atttack.

Thats my moan over,

I'm glad that you're no longer ill! It sounds like you had a rough time of it. I can't offer much in the way of advice regarding the "meal replacement diet", but I'm sure it will help. Just remember that you can do this. You did it before and you can do it again. Take it slow and keep at it!
