Hubby made an incredibly fattening dish last night. But I managed to drag myself off of the couch and take my walk, despite not wanting to. I figure I can cheat on my diet for one day, or slouch on my exercise for one day, but I cannot do both in the same day. I was glad I went, because I want to take my camera next time I'm out. In particular there is a spot where some sunflowers grew between the cracks of the sidewalk, and the back drop for it is a gray concrete wall. It could make a rather stunning photo if my dinky little digital camera will pick it up the way I want it to.

Tonight, weather permitting, my friend and I will take our bicycles for a spin around the golf course, and on Sunday my husband and I are planning on an even more challenging hike, guided by my boss and his wife. It's getting dark sooner, which makes my walks cooler, but I am starting to panic about losing the daylight and the ability to get outside and be active. It's probably time to seriously look into that gym membership for over the winter.

Meanwhile, I'm having a harder time wanting to abide by my diet. I enjoy the foods, that's not an issue. But I do miss the high calorie, tasty comfort foods too. As produce prices go up over the winter, and we try to figure out how my husband's decrease in pay after a job change will affect our bills, it will be interesting to see how well I continue to be able to incorporate fresh produce into my meals. I need to do something though. I do not want to have to start this whole process all over again next spring.
