CALORIE QUESTION: Usually I don't eat calories i burned during exersice...I just think of that as what I am loosing....but I just realized that I planned an odd day and I just finished a 30 minute strength workout for 389 calories and I am riding my bike for an hour tonight for 600-900....to my total burn will range from 989-1489....and I usually eat between 1400 and 1600 calories a day....

so my question is: should I eat more food before my ride? I am thinking that I don't have to...you know they only eat 1200 cal a day on biggest looser and it's not like I am working out for 8 hours...just thought I would check in and get some other thoughts

You need to gauge how you feel. If you feel you are hungrier on some days, eat more (but make it healthy). If you feel low on energy, you may need more fuel. If you feel fine, stick with the 1600 a day. If you do a lot of exercise, it's always good to refuel afterward (some protein and carbs).

Thanks! That's what I endedup doing...I was just so full I could not eat before the ride...but a small protien bar after was just what I needed!

I personally would find your RDI based on that activity level and then subtract like 800-1000 calories off of that....that's what I'm doing and losing about 1/2 lb a day....
