Re-energize's Journal, 26 July 2014

Hi FS friends,
Does anyone know how to enter foods that are not listed, for instance if I have made myself a vegetable medley of, (mushrooms, peppers, kale, spinach etc.) how do I enter this in the food journal..I have searched for such and it either comes up with some brand of frozen or such and not something fresh that one has put together.
Does this not allow you to register your own makings...frustrated, because I do not buy frozen or packaged foods, it is all fresh...Please help me!!!!!!!

Hi Re-Energize. You can enter your foods as a recipe under the recipe tab at the top (you can choose to share or not to share your recipe as well). After you've gone through the steps of creating a recipe, you can find it again by looking down the left hand column of the website page - under "My Community", click my cook book, select your recipe and an option will appear (also on the left side) to add it to the foods you've eaten. I know it sounds like a bit of a complicated process but after the first couple times it will be second nature. Good luck.

Correction - you won't need to click on your recipe - below it will have a few options and one of them is to add the item to your food diary.

Good for you in making your own veggie medley from fresh produce instead of a prepackaged meal. :)

click on enter food (dinner plate), click on add item under breakfast, enter item in food search, look for add new food item and click, a new screen comes up and you can add all the info.

Re-energize - sometimes I just enter the individual ingredients. I've done the whole recipe thing and found it cumbersome.

Thank you for your suggestions, I tried the new food thing and they want you to put the nutritional facts down too, so I think I will stick to individual ingredients... way to complicated for me to fuss around with...lol
