DairyKing's Journal, 19 July 2014

Good Morning, FS Warriors! I've got a little catching up to do; vacation has a habit of interfering with my journaling. LOL! Ran an easy 6.0 miles this morning. Race is 6.2 miles on the 23rd of August, and I just wanted to see how much work I've got to do before then. I set a pace probably a little too slow because I was unsure of myself. By the end of 4.0 miles I still felt so good, I opened her up a bit, and finished at about a 12:30 pace, which I didn't think was bad for a six-miler. So, I'd say the main thing I have to work on is pace. I could have kicked it, but wearing myself out so I couldn't run for a couple days wasn't in the plan.
We went and saw Jersey Boys, the story of the Four Seasons, directed and produced by Clint Eastwood, Friday, If you liked the music of the Four Seasons, you would probably like the movie. We did. We both grew up loving the Four Seasons music. The movie revealed some pretty startling events in the lives of the group.
Yesterday, I took the loader/backhoe over to the Pastor's new (older) home and removed all the hedges from the front of the home. (nope, wasn't a prank; he wanted help with them). He was at work, I wasn't, so I went ahead and did it. What a job! That's the same stuff I got celulitis doing before, but this time I didn't wear shorts. :) Took me most of the day. Then I took the trailer over to the Optimist club; they loaned us their picnic tables for Community Outreach Fish Fry (which is today). They just happened to be the heaviest picnic tables I have ever seen. :D There were 3 of us, so we loaded up the trailer and took 4 trips (wasn't far). Then we went to the local tavern for All you can eat Walleye Friday. Four fillets and 2 bud longnecks later, I was ready for bed! Long day. They've all been long days. I will have to go back to work to get some rest. LOL! One more week of vacation. Told eveyone, no more projects, I'm working on the kitchen!
Well, that's about all that's happening in DK's world so far. Wishing everyone a great weekend! Toodles!

LOL that you have to qualify removing the pastors hedges wasn't a prank. What must you imagine we think of you?

Walleye fillets, I'm jealous. I used to get treated to a walleye dinner each year with friends who belonged to the Minnesota State society. Delicious!
