Not much new going on. I've been trying to eat well, but still nothing on the exercise front other than walking dogs. Greg leaves in 2 weeks! I think that I'm going to drive out part way with him and we're going to stay with a couple friends in baton rouge and go to new orleans on Saturday for Jazz Fest. Then Sunday we will drive a little more and I'll fly out (somewhere) on Monday back to South Carolina.

Our last day at Barnes & Noble is the 24th and I'm looking forward to having "me" time and also family time too. Greg and I have been reading David Bach's "Smart Couples Finish Rich" and it talks about having a Value Circle and really paying attention to what your values in life are. So Greg and I have talked about these and for the next year we are supposed to focus on these. One of mine is Family, so quitting Barnes & Noble is really in align with that because it allows me to have my weekends free to go and visit them and I also have nights off so I can call the people I can't see more often.

What I would like to do while Greg is gone is really concentrate on my exercise and getting fit. I also want to finally decide what I want to go back to school for. I don't want to drag it out. So this is my mission while he's in New Mexico.

Greg and I have been together 5 years as of April 14th, he brought home flowers for me and we went to dinner (nothing fancy). So it was a nice night.

Also, I was trying to come up with some ideas about neat things to mail him while he's there, you know, cute or romantic, or funny letters, or something. I read in last month's issue of Real Simple that a woman sends pinatas full of things because you an put the stamps and address label right on the outside! Also, my friend suggested getting a journal and mail it back and forth. Do you guys have any other ideas?

Thanks!
Alaina

It is not a romantic relationship but I mail my son "theme" gifts often. "Snickers" when we have had a good "laugh." "Nuts" when he is about to go "nuts" with exam stress. "Three Musketeers" because he is my "hero," and so on.

I'm so happy for you, getting to quit barnes and noble! I read "smart women finish rich" when I was single, maybe if we read "smart couples finish rich" chuck can quit barnes and noble, too! ;) I hope you find some fun ways to spread the romance while greg is gone. I love doing stuff like that. I homemade a valentine for chuck on which I listed many of the things I love about him and he said it was the best valentine had ever received. I was inspired by my sister's ex-boyfriend who once made a long list of things he loved about her and snipped them apart and put them all in a shoebox. so cute!!
