Sandy701's Journal, 10 March 2011

The storms yesterday gave way to sunny skies this morning. But the temp was barely over 50 and there was a blustery wind out, so it wasn't the perfect walking day one might think. I was pretty glad to get home and get out of the wind. 3.3 miles total, 2.6 of them with dogs.

Today is the day to get the usual household stuff done that I didn't get done yesterday due to the storms and the paw-holding I did for my one storm-phobic pooch. Drugs help her, but she still prefers to be extra-close to me and likes to stay in one place for security. She has me well-trained - LOL!

I was surprised last night when I thought I might like a little something more to eat, that I was already over 1400 calories and had my quota of carbs. I re-assessed and found I wasn't truly hungry so that was good, I guess.

I'm beginning to think of how to manage this WOE on our trip to Atlanta in a few weeks. Dinner is no problem, it's breakfast and lunch I'm pondering. I need to check out just what this hotel typically has for its "made-to-order" breakfast. Eggs and sausage, if available, will make me a very happy camper and then all I need to work out is lunch. DH tends to leave the lectures/seminars and come back to the room with/for some type of lunch and I'll be grabbing something out in the malls or other shopping areas, although I will be on foot (exercise will be NO problem...). Atkins bars and shakes are the obvious choice, but I'd like more variety if I can. Food court salads will certainly work. I need to come up with a plan and a shopping list; we'll be taking a lot of food in coolers, I think, and replenishing the ice on a daily basis.

Got to love the animals. I know what you mean about them having us trained. I once saw a saying, "You don't own Pugs, they own you". It really hit home with me. We are all they have. Way to go on getting in the walking even in the winds. Are you in Kates Challenge? I am and I am really learning how my body talks to me and it's signals it gives me. Really amazing!!!!! Well, Sandy, a lot of places do have salads. So while out and about you could consider that. I'm sure something will come up and strike your taste buds. I have faith you will do great.:) You have a wonderful time when you go and just have fun. Hope your having a great day.:)

Yup, I'm in Kate's challenge. I'm having trouble with it, so that's actually good! I think the mind-sets are what I should be shooting for, so I'll just keep on trying. I just don't quite trust my body's signals in their entirety, as I could still easily get pulled off track listening to it, I think....like, "Yes, it's CAKE you're hungry for, so go ahead and eat what you're hungry for..." It's still very much a work in progress. Hope you're having a good day (that's warmer, too).

Your not alone. We all have our struggles. I've not quite given into all the thinks my body says its hungry for either. I fear I won't be able to quit at that one piece or 5 fries or 1 slice of pizza. Although I made pizza for lunch today and had 2 pieces. Of course it is Atkins friendly. I got it off Linda's site. I've found lots of good ones there. It is really awesome. As for the weather, I give up on it.lol Starting to rain now, so here comes the ice. Have a great day my friend.:)
