Sandy701's Journal, 09 March 2011

Walked approx. 3 miles today, all with doggies, in advance of the rain and storms that look like they'll be here by noon. All sorts of watches and warnings are up, but for now, it's quiet. Cloudy, extremely windy and a strange kind of warm clamminess.

I had to make a few detours today and ended up walking a slightly different route, so I had to give it my best estimate. I know we covered the usual 2.6 route, albeit in a different sequence, but then the rest was a bit of this and a bit of that, so 3 miles is my best estimate.

Hi Sandy, I am sure your the one who told me about the knee scooter. I ask my sister about it and she said she was thinking heavily towards getting one. So wanted to let you know this and wanted to thank you for the info....Bren

Bren, have her check the price for buying it rather than renting...when we checked, it was not covered by insurance, and was cheaper to buy one through ebay than to rent one for the 6 weeks mom needed it. And it is awesome for getting around.

Sandy, you are doing awesome with the exercise. Keep up the great work. Can't wait until the weather here gets warm enough (and dry enough) for walking. Have a great evening!

Thanks Sandy, I will pass this on to her as well. I'll have her look for it on ebay too. She needs all the help she can get.....Bren Her doctor told her she would be out of commision for 12 weeks..

Yikes....12 weeks!! Will you be there all that time? Anyway, with such a long time period, it might be more cost effective to buy rather than rent, as Stef suggested, if she can get a good price on it. Don't forget to pack some treats for the pets!

@ Stef...The walking was a bonus today, as I expected to be house-bound due to the rain and storms, but they held off until noon. I was up way too early (for me, not for Laurie, LOL!) and then found myself almost nodding off in the middle of the thunderstorms! Once they had pretty much passed and were only distant rumbles, I tried to lie down and catch a short nap, but, of course, couldn't. So, I feel very much off schedule today with that and the fact that I did not do my usual volunteering this afternoon, as we had 3 tornado warnings during the time I would have gone..sorry, but I'm taking cover. No tornados touched down, thankfully, but it got the adrenalin going.

Sandy I will be there for at least 2 to 3 weeks as I will need to take stinker boo (my niece) to school and pick her up as well. If I am needed any longer I will probably come home one weekend to get caught up on the bill paying etc. and then head back. My other sister that lives close by works and so she is not able to take care of her. But its my pleasure after all she is my baby sister. The dogs will be fine as they love their aunt Bren too. Ha Ha
