I've just come back yesterday to the site, after realizing I'm eating when I'm not hungry and can't stop. Logging my food and exercise opens my eyes to how I'm not doing so bad in some areas, but worse in others, and how I can adjust what and how I eat.

It is better to treat food as a unpleasant financial and time burden(which it is). Treating food as if it is a pleasant casual/leisure activity never leads to good things. I can buy a 20 pound bag of rice for $8.78. If you want to lose weight eat rice till your sick of it then you will only eat what you need. Be sure to get a multivitamin, you can get a 200 vitamin bottle for about $8 as well.

No!!! :) How depressing 7Priest7. Food can be healthy and delicious. I've just have to end my bad habits. TV has so many darned food commercials that convince you what you want... I stopped watching the commercials. I've lost 60 lbs in the last year, and am checking myself now once I've noticed my increase in eating. With love, I will work to adjust that habit to be a way of life that's pleasing and works in my favor.... that's the plan.

Welcome back! You have taken a major step in coming back to track everything. Good for you! You know what you need to do...so do it! You can do this, you did it before! We all stumble and fail sometimes. We just have to pick ourselves back up and keep working at what we really want. Believe me, I have been there and might be there again if I'm not careful. Rooting for you!

Welcome back. I've done the same thing, gaining 80 lbs. in the last two years (sick and depressed) and now working to get back down… struggling but on my way to feeling better. Be glad that you've made the decision to get better, thats the first step :)

Welcome back! You've already taken a big step, recognizing you need to be here and make changes...since you've been successful before losing weight you know how to do it. It's just a matter of doing it again. This is a great time for a fresh start. It's one day at a time, you can do this. In a short time you'll be on your way to losing again and that will feel so much better.

Not sure what 53kg is in pounds, but I'm in the same boat. I lost 102 pounds about 4 1/2 years ago and have since gained back 70! Lost 30 last summer and then put it back on over the winter. I'm also doing low carb which is how I did it before but my resolve is not as strong. Blessings on your effort to get healthy.
