Beautiful and peaceful thoughts...Hmm...Sunday was an amazingly beautiful day. I did well in Pilates, did better with the killer plie squats, and the instructor said to me after class "you did marvelous today". I was glowing as I tied on my Zumba shoes, and an Zumba pal that I hadn't seen for months showed up (we had chatted on facebook earlier) and we had a great time dancing and laughing.i danced like i hadn't just finished Pilates. The good feelings lasted all day,and I tried to share it with everyone. I baked avocado blueberry muffins and whole wheat honey flaxseed bread in the afternoon.

Today I was sore again, but still enjoyed a gentle Zumba Gold. That was, until I sprained the ring finger on my left hand trying to catch my cooling wrist pack as the Velcro came loose & the pack shot toward the instructor. I jammed the finger against my right wrist when I caught the errant wrist wrap. Now I have a swollen, colorful, and very painful finger. I have to remember the lowest modification for the side plank challenge in Pilates, the one where I use my forearm instead of my hand. Sigh. Good thing I'm real familiar with making modifications!

A very good thing I see my physical therapist tomorrow. She'll be able to tell me if I should see a doctor, or tape or splint the finger. I'm already using ice and arnica. Dinner was simple tuna avocado sandwiches and asparagus; very easy to prepare. I sort of did some comfort eating ...lost count of how many zucchini applesauce cookies I ate...I'm a little bummed that I'm typing this one-fingered on my kindle, and that I wasn't able to report in for my challenge. Meh.

Life goes on. I'm tickled pink with my tighter abs and the muscles that are gracing my arms and legs from Pilates and Zumba. I'm satisfied that tomorrow will be a beautiful day to return to mindful eating.

Sorry about your finger but otherwise you sound great. You really have no idea how wonderful it is that you can do so soon after such major joint surgery. You truly are amazing. Glad you are feeling good, you totally deserve it.

I'm amazed at your ability to get to your classes so often! Good for you. I have lots of excuses these days to not do much so will you work out for me too? xoxo

Thank you, buddies. I'm very thankful that I'm doing so well. I spend a lot of time stretching, rolling, using ice packs, massaging in pain cream, etc, but it's worth it. I'm stronger and more agile and that feels so good, and is very useful. :o) I will need to have my right knee replaced, and I plan on being in good enough shape that I'll recover just as quickly. My pelvis is more stable and my back pain is less since I've been doing Pilates. My instructors are great at suggesting modifications, as well as my physical therapist. I have friends that remind me to keep my head down so I won't have neck pain.
