HELP ME PLEASE!!!

How do I tone up and lose a few more pounds WITHOUT building too much muscle that I gain weight...grrrrrrrr! This has been my week long struggle! My scale is not budging, well it is but UP, then down, then UP (like up 1 pound, down 1 pound), my clothes are loser and I don't feel I am gaining fat but muscle. I don't want to gain, I want to lose WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH...I know I am being a baby!

I am starting to measure vs. focus so much on the scale but in a perfect world I'd love to have both the "number" and a nice toned look! I really wish I could see myself through someone else's eyes!

Ok I am done whinning...HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE...my goal is to have a GOOD dieting weekend!

I look at it this way. I would rather weigh 150 and be a size 4 then weigh 140 and be a size 8. Muscle is smaller and denser than fat, so it is heavier but takes up less room. Putting on a little muscle is actually what you want because the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn at rest. Which means you can eat more and still maintain your weight. It also means you are smaller and not carrying a bunch of unhealthy fat. Losing weight only makes you a smaller version of what you are now. Cardio will help you lose fat. Strength training will help you firm up. Use light weights with lot's of repetitions. Try interval training, plyometrics, cross training. So many things you can do to firm up. It actually takes a lot of work for women to gain muscle. We don't gain it as easily as men. Even though it's hard, don't just focus on that number. You can be at that number and still be flabby and unhealthy. If you are fit and strong and lean, you will feel amazing and fit in to smaller sizes. If you see the scale go up while exercising, it is usually muscle edema (muscles retaining water to help them heal and temporary). If you keep going, the scale will start going back down, but it takes time and patience.

honestly if you want the scale to go down...back off all the muscle building supplements..try something like piyoga...where you can get lean long muscles...and not bulk up...you are taking in whey protein which is what body builders use to bulk up...so cut that out and hit the cardio.
