Jellocat's Journal, 11 February 2011

I have been diagnosed as Type II Diabetes, American Diabetes, basically. We eat like s*^t in this country and hence, we support the medical industry by getting sick. It's time to reverse the trend, at least for me. It'll be very hard because I love food, but I will allow myself little cheats here and there. If you look at my food diary, you'll see - I cheat a lot! But this type of diet is the foundation that I will build from.

I liked what you said about the medical industry. I am a nurse practitioner and I wish my patients understood that concept. It's ok to have cheats once in a while, but the best thing you can do is eat a high protein diet and watch your carbs. Sounds like you are on the right track. Kudos and keep up the good work!!
