KimReed's Journal, 20 March 2014

I started walking every day about a month ago. I find that I crave the walks now and don't feel as good when I don't. A new pair of shoes caused me to get a blister on the back of my heel. I can't walk until it heals. I even tried to put band aids on it yesterday. It worked at first, but when they started to shift, OUCHY!! I'm bummed!! I never thought I would say that - LOL. I've never been into exercise and used to laugh when people said "You'll have more energy if you exercise, you'll feel better." I get it now and that is something I never thought I would say. I love it and can't wait for this stupid blister to heal. Have a great day everybody!! **hugs**

P.S., Can you change your member name? I would like to use my maiden name (which is my current status - Hahahahahaha and Yay).

I use to have that happen sometimes with new running shoes. Get the large bandaids (you know the kind that look like they could cover your knee cap, with sticky all around the edges?). Those will usually stay over the blistered area, but take a few extras (and pockets) just in case. I think if you are walking they stand an even better chance of staying on the for a runner. Hope you're at it again soon.

If the blisters are bad you can get some thick bandages or foam from a drug store and some mole skin. Cut a hole in the material to go around the blister and then wrap your ankle with the mole skin. Basically making a doughnut for the blister so you can still walk without anything rubbing until it heals. Good for everyday too.

I use the molefoam or moleskin too. Works great most of the time. Good going overall!
