Anyone else suddenly having issues with a pile of banners, floating and otherwise, getting in your way when you're trying to read posts? It's getting to the point where I can't send PM because things are in the way. I've run Malware and antivirus. It's still here. It's on two of my computers so I'm thinking it's the site? MrsMole? Draglist? Suggestions?

It's the same on any browser and on two computers. :( It's blocking my ability to edit posts as well.

Sounds like you have a virus, I don't have that on any of my computers, devices or browsers on this site. It's possible you have the same virus on both computers if they are used the same or on the same network. Do me a favor and go into your add ons in your browser and tell me what's there. I had a virus on my husbands netbook the other day that none of 3 different scanners picked up. I had to track it back from the add on it was putting in the browsers to get rid of it.

I should add the reason this made me think of that virus was that it was doing exactly as you are saying. Popping up adds and banners over top of sites like Amazon to the point of making the sites nearly unusable. But it seemed to target specific sites as some didn't have the banners at all.

Sounds like you have a bug! You need a popup blocker.

if you share a network you have a virus. Try "Malawarebytes" Free programme. It will clear anything from a Trojan to a spamming/key logging/banner programme. If that doesn't work, do a pc restore back a few days. I kept getting a bloody annoying PC fix ad everytime I went online. Grrr. Hope this helps.

+edit+ I see you have already tried Malaware. I use CCleaner which is gentle but effective. If all else fails I do a restore. I don't use AVG or Norton or any of the antivirus programmes. They just block everything and create more problems than they solve IMHO.

Someone else had suggested changing browsers. For instance, if you are using Firefox, try going back to Explore and see what happens.

You could try Tools - internet options - turn on pop-up blocker.

Tried opera, and ie. Same issue. CCleaner has been run as has malware. Lisa. I agree on Norton and AVG. I use windows defender which came with Windows 8, which is imo the absolutely worth OS I have ever seen, and I began by building my own 386 many years ago. (You likely don't know what that is.) :) Popup blocker is on. For the first time ever I'm considering a Mac. I wrote to Microsoft and told them I felt this OS was worse than most viruses. Installed classic shell to get away from their start menu. If I'd wanted a tablet I would have bought a tablet, you know?

Got it. Thanks everyone.

SOLUTION: I use Google Chrome. Install ad blocker extension and all ads go away in two seconds flat. Do a google search for it. Totally free. There's also one for Firefox and IE. I'm not a Mac person, so the only free advice here is for PC users.
