relax, these fluctuations are very normal. If you get too frustrated about this there is a big change you cannot keep it up, so if that is the case stop weighing in daily. To me it was an eyeopener to see these fluctuations after a year and finally realize that they where normal. I could even see a montlhy spike, if you know what im talking about (as a woman) just keep it up, your body will adjust to your new lifestyle.

Water and food weight. Sadly, it makes a HUGE difference day to day. Especially if you aren't passing stool everyday, also. Weighing daily is a little pointless, but it does help keep one motivated?

I know what you mean! When the scale is showing that I am in a "plateau", I just remind myself that I am already doing my best to get healthier and my body will just continue to respond as I go along. =)

Plus, plateau could just mean you have gained more muscle and lost fat.

Thanks to everybody! I like to weight in every day - it is like a tradition. The same as shower and coffee in the morning. Despite sometimes it shows weight number pluses, sometimes it makes me stay motivated. When I see the increase, it is easier to get myself to go to a gym or do some extra walking. But in general I count the progress every Tue. I've lost 2kgs since last Tue!!

I check myself out every morning just to see but I don't obsess unless there's a huge unexpected jump. This gives me an idea of where I am as I am tracking toward my Friday morning weigh in at Weight Watchers.
