I awoke today with renewed faith in myself regarding this journey I am on. It is a long one to be sure to get to my goal and then a life long one to maintain my achievements. Some days/weeks better than others to be sure but I know I CAN and WILL do this.

I realized that the past 14 months HAVE already been full of achievements and this is the longest I have ever stayed committed to my efforts :

1) I HAVE quit smoking for obvious reasons- damn that was a nasty habit!
2) I HAVE quit drinking alcohol- don't get me wrong, I would love a great glass of pinot from time to time but all that sugar is not good for my triglycerides!
3) I HAVE embraced the realization that education of one's own body, how it reacts to certain foods, nutritional value, eating clean food, the value of exercise. I am constantly emphasizing that you must EDUCATE yourself, it is a critical building block to having a successful journey.
4) I HAVE committed to finding the balance of the right kinds/amounts of food to intake and continuing with the exercise I WILL come to love to transform myself into a healthier me!
5) I HAVE found the most supportive, informative, sincere, support system here on Fat Secret with all of my buddies. Yes, some do come and go, but I feel I have a large handful (and you know who you are!) that are committed to this journey. We will be lifelong friends, not just FS buddies!

With all you have realized over the last 14 months, you've ALREADY succeeded! The rest is just time, waiting for your body to catch up with your head :). And I feel and share your pride in some of this in that I passed my one year mark on th 29th of Dec. I've never stuck to something this long, either! Still a struggle at times - I find it so easy to slip into my old eating habits, but no going back, right? Fall, pick ourselves back up and try hard not to chastise ourselves! Nice, positive, uplifting journal entry! Thanks for sharing.
