Jane Robbin's Journal, 06 January 2014

I am doing well on my six week body makeover... the only problem I see is that all this food I eat 7 times a day does not really add up to 1200 calories and I am told if I eat less than 1200 calories my body will go into starvation mode... a few days I have added other things to put the calories up higher...

There's a lot of controversy over "starvation mode". Some info says it exists, other info says it doesn't. Basically, anything under 1200 a day for a woman and you may not get all the nutrition your body needs. If you go under a few days and take a multivitamin, I wouldn't worry.

I've noticed that when you go on the low calorie binges that you should take one day a week and make it a 'spike' day. On the spike day you eat double your allotted calories and this helps keep your metabolism from dropping when you do the continual low calorie days.
