Got in a kettle bell workout. 50 dead lift squats, 100 swings, 20 clean and press each side, 10 halo each side, and 10 windmill each side. All of these moves except for the windmill should be good for users of any age, look them up... wink wink.... nudge nudge. Flusters me that I have no idea how many calories a workout like this burns. I just might buy myself a bodymedia arm band. Merry christmas to me lol.

So my protein isn't often as high as I'd like it to be, thinking about getting a post workout protein supplement. Any recommendations??

I remember the last time you journalled about the kettle ball workouts. As I recall it was a big "OUCH" - hope you're better off this time LOL! I use a pre meal protein drink from PGX with 60 calories, 3g carbs and 10g protein. It's not a meal replacement though. Good luck!

Ill look into it, thanks!! Yes, last time I did the squats was Friday and I was sore all through yesterday. Felt great today which means it's time for another round lol. Working on that bum and thighs... 2014 is going to = short shorts for this chic!

Yolanda I think the fitbit or whatever you choose is a good idea and I'd love to hear from you how it works for you. I've thought about getting something like that since I know my calories burned are not what is said when I log them but would actually appreciate a better accounting of calories in and calories burned. I think you're doing great! Keep it up :)

I use a protein mix I get at Hy-Vee, I can't remember the name now, but it comes in a black bag and is delicious. I have yet to find a chocolate protein powder that tastes good though. The hy-vee one is 108 cals per serving, then add the milk calories unless using H2O, and around 20g protein. I don't have a kettle bell, but the workout is making me tired just looking at it.

Thanks Mars, I'll check it out! I'm not sore today, which is great progress :-)

Maybe to log your workout you could record how long it takes and call it "weight training- intense" because that's what it sounds like!

Do have to check these out. Mine are sort of wimpy. Want something that will let me know I've worked out the next day and have to go to the ER because I can't stand or hold my arms up.
