adnixon's Journal, 26 December 2013

I have not been recording my weight. I am on Christmas break and have gained way more than needed in my pregnancy already. My husband and I used to track our food together and be weight loss partners, but it's very difficult to maintain or lose without his help. He is not discouraging but he thinks I worry about nothing.I think I am about 148 now and I am at the end of my 20th week of my pregnancy. I don't really look big but I feel huge! I haven't been working out for about a week because I have been aching and been very congested. Everyday I say I will do better by not eating too much but all the food at my house and my relatives' houses over the holiday has me eating without even caring and then saying I will start fresh tomorrow. I have had to get bigger bras to be more comfortable. Feeling discouraged and unmotivated. Wishing to stay slim for post baby recovery.

I know I ate too much the past 2 days. Finally have been feeling good this week so I am going to try getting more exercise in. I will let you know the damage tomorrow. Hope you get to feeling better and find some motivation to keep going. Also don't forget all your stomach muscles have taken a vacation. *Hugs*

It definitely is harder with a spouse not on the same page as you! Especially around the holidays. Cut yourself a little slack and try not to dwell on where you are, just focus on doing better from here on out! You don't want to spend your whole pregnancy stressing out about gaining too much (as long as you're reasonable of course) - embrace it and try to enjoy it! I know, easier said than done. Just a reminder :)

I started at 128 and am 148 now at about 21 weeks. I think I am about 8 pounds over what I should be st this point. I have convinced my husband that we will both begin recording food and actively doing better starting tomorrow because he wants to go use a giftcard to eat tonight. We will see how this goes. Does 8 pounds over seem unreasonable? what do you giys think?

Not sure how tall you are but that doesn't sound too bad, if you double it to say 40 lbs during pregnancy. Most things say 25-35, more or less if you are overweight or underweight. Since you were likely at a good weight, I see nothing wrong with being at teh top end, knowing you'll regain energy and a healthy lifestyle post baby and be able to lose it. But that's just my opinion. Now if you were on pace for 80 lbs, I'd change my mind. I don't want to be one of htose people, but I also don't want to stress too much over the numbers. I think its just always harder gaining during pregnancy for anyone who has worked really hard to lose weight. Just don't want you being too hard on yourself!

Thanks. I'm only 5'2" but I used to be very heavy and did work very hard to lose it all. I was at a healthy weight. My new goal is to maintain the 148 for several weeks to try to get on track. If that doesn't work, I will go from there! Have a great day and thanks for the encouragement!

Be kind to yourself. Believe it or not, after the baby is born, the weight will come off. Just be healthy and try to eat healthy. If I remember correctly, I was a lot hungrier when I was pregnant. I'm 5'0 and gained 40 pounds. It all came off. As an older adult, it is harder :) then when you are young. Wishing you the best.

The only thing I can think to be helpful is if you are still gaining weight faster then you like just make sure you are not drinking any of your calories. I know I like my coffee and could save myself 250 calories a day. If I keep getting hungrier I will have to do something.
