Happy Holidays everyone!

Well I'm back from my holiday with family. I had 3 days of high carb/high calorie eating. I had intended to only have 1 day (Christmas Eve) but the homemade treats got the best of me. I haven't weighed yet ... I'm waiting for Monday. I'm hoping to recover a bit before stepping on the scales. I will be very happy with a 'stay the same'. That may not be possible considering the massive number of homemade rice krispie treats I ate. They were soooo good. Other people in my family went for the pies, cookies, fudge, etc….I went for the cereal treats. I think I’ve got it out of my system now.

It feels good to be 'low carbing' again. Having 3 full days of high carb intake really showed me the benefits of the Atkins diet. When I low carb my hunger is sated all the time, when I don't I have the munchies non-stop.

I spent quite a bit of time today meal planning for the next two weeks. I find that it really helps me stay on track if I've figured out the menu in advance. I finished up the grocery shopping tonight and am as prepared as I can be. Tomorrow I’m going to put together a couple of low carb casseroles and deviled eggs for next week.

I'm also excited because my dearest friend will be starting Atkins on January 5. I promised to do induction with her. She feels she needs to lose about 70 pounds. I'd love to see us both drop 70 pounds over the next several months.

Happy New Year to you all.

You can do it! I lost about 70lbs. then gained a few back, need to lose some more. But I'm way below my ideal body weight so I can't complain. I felt literally ill Christmas Day after splurging on carbs Christmas Eve. Thankfully it's only once a year! I'm already back on track and should start my journaling again this weekend. Have you and your friend journal if you can it helps you realize everything you intake so you stop before you do that mindless eating!!! Best wishes..glenn

Error - My overweight when I was in the military was 212 lbs. for my height but then I was skinny and weighed below 150lbs. at age 20 or so. I'm below overweight now! I'm no longer considered overweight for my height, and I think the military raised the weight since the early '80s. Anyway, my ideal body weight is 191, I'm almost there and plan to get a few pounds below it!! I made a mistake there - but everyone tells me I'm thin enough and of course all who say that are not thin!!! :)
